Frequently Asked Questions

We’re happy to answer any questions you may have, but feel free to read the following FAQs and you may find we already have!

How high can you fly?

UK CAA guidelines stipulate a maximum altitude of 400ft (120m). Higher altitudes can be achieved however this requires additional time and prior approval.

How far can you fly?

We are able to fly our UAV up to 500m away from where the pilot is located. This gives a radius of 1km for operations. However, visual line of sight must be maintained at all times.

Can you fly in wind?

As stated in our operations manual, we can fly in winds of up to 15kts (17mph). This speed was carefully calculated taking into consideration both safety and best visual results.

Can you fly in rain?

Unfortunately not. With exposed motors and other critical electronic components, water equals tears! However, we plan our shoots wisely and will always find the best possible conditions.

Where can you fly?

Our permission (no.2889) permits us to conduct commercial operations anywhere in the UK. Remember, landowner permission must be obtained for take-off and landing sites.

Can you fly abroad?

With plenty of notice, we can apply to the pertinent aviation authority of any country for a permission to operate. Our track record shows great success in this area.

Can you fly at events?

Of course! For crowds under 1,000 persons, we’re obligated to stay at least 50m away and cannot fly over anyone not in our control. This distance must be increased to 150m for crowds over 1,000 persons.

Can we hire your drone?

Unfortunately we cannot offer our equipment without an operator. However, our prices are very reasonable and we are happy to offer half-day rates for most applications.
